REMEMBER IT FROM:
It's the racetrack where we finally get to see Jill do her thing in a formula vehicle - and where her handsome fiance is killed in a fiery explosion.
FEATURED IN THIS EPISODE:
- "Angel Come Home", Season 3
VIDEO - PAUL NEWMAN AT OMS, 1970:
Jill and the rest of the Angels trek all over this California racetrack when Jill brings her racecar driver fiance Steve Carmody home to meet the family. It's here that Jill's friend Paul Ferrino's formula car is destroyed, where Farrah speeds around the track on a press day, and ultimately where Carmody meets his untimely death on wheels.
In operation for just a decade, Ontario Motor Speedway first opened in 1970 and closed in 1980. Designed similarly to the Indianapolis 500 track, the Ontario was home to the California 500 for many years - including in 1978 when Charlie's Angels filmed here.
In 1981, just three years after this episode was filmed, the track was demolished and sat as a vacant lot for many years. In more recent times, however, the land changed owners and a residential community was built up on what was once the track, so these days, there's really nothing left to see except the ghostly memories of races that were, living on through the names of the neighborhood streets - Ferrari Lane and Duesenburg Drive.
