REMEMBER IT FROM:
The Angels hole up here on a Vegas vacation full of showgirls and blackmail.
FEATURED IN THIS EPISODE:
- The Vegas Connection, Season 1
Guess even pretending they stayed at one of the big-name Vegas hotels was out of the question? This episode employed the use of several feet of stock footage of '70s era Las Vegas, yet for some reason chose to insinuate that the Angels vacationed at the Hallmark Motel located in ... Hollywood.
They never really were on location in Vegas for any part of this episode (though they would be two years later for their Season 3 opener). Anyway, the stock footage of their motel is that of the now-demolished Hallmark House / Motel, which was located on Sunset Boulevard, in the heart of Hollywood.
See the vintage 1958 postcard below touting the then-state-of-the-art lodge in all its retro glory. "Where elegance is reasonable -- including luxuriously comfortable rooms and suites, centrally air conditioned, heated pool, private patio, subterranean parking, phone and elevator service, free TV."
Though the historic architecture has been long removed, the location is still a hotel fronted by towering palms - today it is owned by Days Inn. Stay there if you want to pretend you're in Las Vegas!
