The dinky skate shop was actually played by the famous Cadillac Hotel on Oceanfront Walk, built in 1914 and still open today, sans rollerskates. Its unique-looking art deco entrance isn’t hard to recognize even with the new pink-turquoise motif and walled-over side windows.

A Venice landmark, the Cadillac was once Charlie Chaplin’s summer escape during his early days of filmmaking in California, and no wonder – with its perfect proximity to the Pacific Ocean and elegant flair, the Cadillac is a must-see.

According to its official website, the historic hotel is apparently planning some renovations to further restore the building to its “original splendor”.
